May I be a protector for those without one,
A guide for all travelers on the way;
May I be a bridge, a boat and a ship
For all who wish to cross the (water).????

I am indeed delighted to participate at the SCHOOLONOMICS 2011 organized by the Times of India. My greetings to the organizers, principals, education providers, education planners, accreditation agencies, vocational trainers, educational entrepreneurs and distinguished guests participating in this function. I am happy that the conference proposes to discuss issues pertaining to holistic models while making India a learner destination towards creation of a knowledge economy. Today I would like to discuss on the topic "Mission of education is capacity building"

Cutting edge technology tools

I came across an article in Economics Times dated 16 December 2011 on the topic "Classrooms for the digital age". The article says that in two schools in Delhi and one in Nagpur, students access lessons and attempt to answer questions on a tablet called ClassPad. The teacher in the class monitors the performance of each student on a real-time basis on the controller tablet. Teacher uses the interactive whiteboard in the classroom to clarify doubts and the students can download the notes on the board to the tablet through wi-fi at the end of the class. These cutting edge classrooms are now available on experimental on basis. We have to make it available at an affordable cost to the students of our country. And also ensure that the benefits of this technology, reaches the needy schools for ensuring inclusive growth of our society. Conference participants may like to discuss and come up to suitable recommendations.
