Four city schools introduce tablets
FROM English to Mathematics to Science and History for classes 1 to VIII, lessons will now be available as games with students being able to ac cess these and pre-loaded worksheets, on tablets called ClassPad tablets. These are ex pected to allow teachers to monitor each child’s perfor
mance through their ‘ troller tablet.
Educational solution providers, Classteacher Leam- ing system, has tied up with four schools in the city-KB- DAV-7, DAV-15, Chamanlal DAV Senior Public School and Hansraj Public school. Tablets have already been distributed at these schools where the heads feel it is a good initiative.
The ClassPad tablets are equipped with artificial intelli gence and will help categorise students as fast learners, aver- age learners and slow leamers The ‘controller’ tablet of teach ers will enable them to transfer class work to the students tablet and share content they want students to read. Teach ers will also be able to conduct tests and make students do worksheets.
The company’s founder, Rohit Pande, who came up with the idea of the tablets to empower teachers to teach better and for students to be able to enjoy academics said “Mobile devices are something that every child, starting from class I, enjoys playing with. This is why we decided to launch a pre-loaded curricu lum and linked lessons and worksheets for the classroom, lab and home. The curriculum based on games and activities consists of little text, but is linked to NCERT.” The ClassPad tablets will
have pre-loaded syllabus for classes I to VIII. Rohit said his company had sent 4,000 tablets to schools in Punjab. Principal of DAV-15, Rakesh Sachdeva said, “The teachers will take time to leam the new tools, but kids will have fun studying.”
